The old claims are never gone. Once again,\u00a0anti-vaxxers<\/a> claim that unvaccinated children are less likely to be diagnosed with\u00a0ADHD, allergies, asthma, chronic sinusitis, ear infections, eczema, GI disorders, learning disabilities, seizures, and eye or speech disorders.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_custom_heading text=”The Facts:” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text css=””]The tweet starts out strong by claiming that \u201cVaccine safety research is forbidden and our government will not release its safety data,\u201d yet you can find hundreds of research articles addressing vaccine safety\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Anti-vaxxers that unvaccinated children are healthier than vaccinated children in myriad ways. They often cite some studies to try to back up those claims. However, all these studies suffer from a lot of the same fallacies. Many are simple surveys.<\/p>\n

Surveys are often victims of\u00a0self-selection bias<\/a>, or volunteer bias, in which participants can decide whether or not to participate in the study, along with\u00a0recall bias<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0reporting bias<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One refrain you often hear from anti-vaxxers is \u201cFollow the money.\u201d So we did, and we found one\u00a0study<\/a>\u00a0funded by two different anti-vaccine organizations\u00a0(Generation Rescue, Inc., and the Children\u2019s Medical Safety Research Institute).\u00a0This study was eventually\u00a0retracted<\/a>.\u00a0Twice.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
