A\u00a0cardiologist<\/a> who made a name for himself for his COVID denialism is traversing into routine childhood vaccine opposition, claiming that the number of vaccines given to children causes neurodevelopmental differences, allergies, and asthma. He claims that a federal law passed in 1986 admits that vaccines are unavoidably harmful.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_custom_heading text=”The Facts:” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text css=””]Overall, the\u00a0vaccine\u00a0schedule\u00a0has expanded<\/a>\u00a0by 1-2 vaccines per decade since the 1980s.\u00a0This\u00a0slow, methodical, scientific advance of immunization recommendations stands\u00a0in\u00a0stark contrast to concerns that vaccines are constantly being capriciously added to the\u00a0schedule.<\/p>\n

Babies are subjected to more\u00a0challenges to their immune system<\/a>\u00a0at birth than they will be\u00a0in\u00a0the entire immunization\u00a0schedule. Keep\u00a0in\u00a0mind that the amount of any ingredient\u00a0in\u00a0vaccines\u00a0is very small<\/a>\u2013smaller than what a child will\u00a0encounter naturally<\/a>\u00a0through living and breathing and eating, and as\u00a0this\u00a0study of\u00a0aluminum\u00a0in\u00a0vaccines<\/a>\u00a0shows, they do not accumulate\u00a0in\u00a0a child\u2019s body to toxic levels.<\/p>\n

Because millions and millions of children have followed the\u00a0vaccine\u00a0schedule, scientists have been able to\u00a0conduct studies showing that the\u00a0schedule\u00a0is safe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But are vaccines unavoidably harmful? In 2011, the Supreme Court decided a case called\u00a0Bruesewitz v. Wyeth<\/a>. This case started when the parents of a girl who was thought to have serious side effects from a vaccine sued the company that made the vaccine. Her parents believed that the vaccine was poorly designed, and that\u2019s what caused her problems.<\/p>\n

However, the Supreme Court agreed with the vaccine manufacturer. They said that the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act protects vaccine makers from being sued if a vaccine causes injuries or death as long as the side effects are unavoidable and the vaccine is made and labeled correctly. They explained\u00a0that the law stops any lawsuits that claim a vaccine\u2019s design is defective.<\/p>\n

The court didn\u2019t say that all vaccines are \u201cunavoidably unsafe<\/a>.\u201d\u00a0The ruling\u00a0was just about whether the parents could sue under this specific law.
