Using complex science terms,\u00a0Dr. Mikolaj Raszek, a genomic sequencing company founder,\u00a0claims<\/a> that mRNA vaccines cause an unusual production of IgG4 antibodies, leading to T-cell exhaustion and eventual autoimmunity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_custom_heading text=”The Facts:” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text css=””]Beware people wielding\u00a0complex scientific terms<\/a>. The main concerns here are\u00a0IgG4\u00a0antibodies<\/a>. The video is a response to this\u00a0paper<\/a>\u00a0suggesting that IgG4 could lead to T-cell exhaustion and, eventually, autoimmunity, but those suggestions are purely speculation at this time. We have no evidence to support those claims.<\/p>\n

Scientific understanding of\u00a0these immune cells is still evolving. However, this\u00a0paper<\/a>\u00a0looked at the issue of\u00a0IgG4\u00a0and offered that\u00a0they make up only a small part of the antibodies that target the COVID spike protein after vaccination. The paper concluded that, overall, these antibodies are unlikely to weaken the immunity of vaccinated people.<\/p>\n

We know perhaps a little more about T-cell exhaustion, as we see it in people who are constantly exposed to high levels of an antigen, such as\u00a0HIV<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0cancer<\/a>\u00a0patients. We have no evidence that repeated vaccination could lead to that sort of T-cell dysfunction.<\/p>\n

This question is still being studied, and more research is needed to understand it.
