An\u00a0internet rumor<\/a> that vaccinated people are asked to wait to donate blood is being used as proof that COVID vaccines are unsafe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_custom_heading text=”The Facts:” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text css=””]Let\u2019s find out\u00a0from the Red Cross what their\u00a0policy<\/a>\u00a0on blood donation after COVID vaccines is. According to the Red Cross, \u201cCOVID-19 vaccine does not make you ineligible to donate blood,\u201d and there is \u201cno wait period after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine as long as they are feeling well and symptom-free,\u201d and as long as the vaccine you received is FDA approved.<\/p>\n

More than 13 billion doses of COVID vaccines have been administered since the end of 2020, giving us a robust body of data from which to draw conclusions. A recent global\u00a0study of 99 million people<\/a>\u00a0found that severe side effects from vaccination were incredibly rare, meaning the vaccine is safe.<\/p>\n
