Bell\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0<\/a>palsy<\/a>\u00a0is an unexplained episode of facial muscle weakness or paralysis.\u00a0The<\/span>\u00a0cause is currently unknown, but it may be triggered by immune challenges such as infection and, on very rare occasions, vaccination.<\/p>\n

The<\/span>\u00a0cases of Bell\u2019s palsy after COVID vaccination have been watched closely and\u00a0studied<\/a>.\u00a0Observational studies<\/a>\u00a0have found that\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0occurrence of Bell\u2019s palsy after vaccination is not significantly higher than what would be expected in\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0general population without vaccination.<\/p>\n

However, certain\u00a0systemic reviews<\/a>\u00a0have shown a slight increase in Bell\u2019s palsy among those who received vaccines compared to those who did not.
