A\u00a0viral tweet\u00a0<\/a>claims that a new study proves the mRNA vaccines against COVID are sending spike proteins into people\u2019s brains and causing long-term damage. The tweet cites this\u00a0preprint<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_custom_heading text=”The Facts:” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text css=””]This viral tweet is making a claim\u00a0about the preprint\u2019s conclusion that simply isn\u2019t true. The author claims that the \u201cstudy has concluded that COVID-19 vaccines are causing \u2018Long-term brain damage\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

The preprint is actually talking about long-term neurological damage after COVID infection, not vaccines. In fact, the word vaccine shows up exactly once in the entire paper\u00a0and makes no\u00a0claims about the results of vaccination.\u00a0All results showing accumulation and damage from spike protein in the human brain were taken from people who had experienced COVID infection, not people who had been vaccinated. Vaccines were not studied at all in this paper.<\/p>\n

Spike protein was injected into mice and found to accumulate in the brain as well, but again, those findings don\u2019t necessarily translate to vaccines or humans. Previous\u00a0bioaccumulation<\/a>\u00a0studies have shown that although mRNA did enter various tissues, including the brain, it was at very low levels for a very limited amount of time. Likewise, other studies have also documented the\u00a0long-term neurological impact<\/a>\u00a0of COVID infection.<\/p>\n

While over\u00a070%<\/a>\u00a0of the world\u2019s population has received at least one vaccine, we are not seeing what would be the obvious societal ills were it causing long-term brain damage.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
