Still, anti-vaxxers\u00a0persist<\/a>\u00a0in blaming the COVID vaccine for this death. Some are pointing to\u00a0case studies\u00a0<\/a>that suggest the vaccine causes aseptic meningitis, but\u00a0aseptic<\/a>\u00a0is not bacterial meningitis, which is a much more severe and deadly type of meningitis.<\/p>\n

It is plausible for the COVID vaccine to cause aseptic (non-bacterial) meningitis because it is reactogenic and can cause inflammatory symptoms.
