Once again, COVID vaccine miscarriage and fertility\u00a0claims<\/a> are making the rounds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_custom_heading text=”The Facts:” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text css=””]While\u00a0COVID\u00a0itself has been shown to increase the risks of\u00a0adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes<\/a>, studies do not show that same association with the\u00a0COVID\u00a0vaccine. Data collected from the\u00a0United States<\/a>\u00a0through v-safe and from\u00a0Norway<\/a>\u00a0both show that there is no increased risk of\u00a0miscarriage\u00a0after the\u00a0COVID\u00a0vaccine.<\/p>\n

One hypothesis has its roots in the\u00a0genetic similarities<\/a>\u00a0between SARS-CoV-2 and\u00a0syncytin-1, a\u00a0protein\u00a0that plays an important role in\u00a0placenta\u00a0development. The mRNA COVID vaccine instructs a person\u2019s cells to create spike proteins to teach the immune system how to spot and destroy a real COVID virus.
