Anyone\u00a0can report anything\u00a0to VAERS, regardless of causation,\u00a0as is\u00a0noted on\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0VAERS\u00a0website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One doctor famously submitted a report that\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0flu shot turned him into\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0Incredible\u00a0Hulk<\/a>. VAERS is helpful for keeping track of vaccine safety, but\u00a0just<\/span>\u00a0because something is reported doesn’t mean\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0vaccine caused it. Even if they’re not sure, doctors should report any important health problems that happen after vaccination.<\/p>\n

The<\/span>\u00a0most pertinent warning on\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0website helps put\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0above claims into context:\u00a0“VAERS reports may contain information that is incomplete, inaccurate, coincidental, or unverifiable.\u00a0<\/strong>Reports to VAERS can also be biased. As a result, there are limitations on how\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0data can be used scientifically. Data from VAERS reports should always be interpreted with these limitations in mind.”<\/p>\n

These “sudden death” claims by anti-vaxxers usually don’t have any proof to back them up.
