We do not believe this.<\/p>\n

In fact, sanitation hurt.\u00a0Before\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a01900s, most kids were exposed to polio as babies, which helped them build natural immunity. Better sanitation from\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0Industrial Revolution<\/a>\u00a0improved health but also reduced exposure to\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0virus, leading to polio outbreaks.<\/p>\n

To get his Shellenberg to agree, Rogan showed him some graphs and suggested they showed polio rates going down before\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0vaccine was introduced.<\/p>\n

But he completely misunderstood\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0graph.<\/p>\n

The<\/span>\u00a0graphs, found\u00a0here<\/a>,\u00a0show that\u00a0deaths<\/em>\u00a0had already drastically fallen before vaccines.\u00a0Cases<\/a>, on\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0other hand, didn’t fall until vaccines were introduced.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
