[vc_row source=”” text=”Clinical Trials” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes” google_fonts=”font_family:Abril%20Fatface%3Aregular|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” link=”” css=”.vc_custom_1708910874436{border-top-width: 1px !important;border-right-width: 1px !important;border-bottom-width: 1px !important;border-left-width: 1px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_custom_heading text=”The Claim:” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text css=””]In a new\u00a0video<\/a>, Professor Dalgleish, an oncologist known for his work in HIV\/AIDS research, claims that COVID-19 vaccines contain synthetic DNA that can get into human genes, causing more cases of cancer, and he urges stopping\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0use of these vaccines because of\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0health risks.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_custom_heading text=”The Facts:” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text css=””]Angus Dalgleish, who had a financial\u00a0interest<\/a>\u00a0in a competing COVID vaccine while he was speaking out against mRNA vaccines, was citing bad science when claiming contamination of synthetic DNA that “presents risks of a genomic instability which can manifest as cancers, immune disorders, and hereditary diseases.”<\/p>\n

The<\/span>\u00a0synthetic DNA he refers to is a promoter gene (a DNA sequence that starts RNA transcription) used in vaccine production.\u00a0In other words, a\u00a0promoter gene is like a switch in DNA that tells\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0cell when to start making RNA, which is used to make proteins. It controls when and how much of a gene gets turned on, helping\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0cell know what to do and when to do it.<\/p>\n

While promoters are used to make mRNA vaccines, they are not considered an ingredient in\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0vaccines since almost all of them are removed during production. These claims, that DNA plasmids were found in mRNA vaccines at a higher proportion of mRNA to DNA than is allowed by FDA guidelines, originally stem from a previous preprint\u00a0paper<\/a>\u00a0acknowledging that one limitation of\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0study is\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0\u201cunknown provenance of\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0vaccine vials under study.\u201dThey also note that\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0vaccines arrived without being stored at proper temperatures and were all expired.<\/p>\n

Dalgleigh cites\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0authors’ follow-up paper, a\u00a0pr<\/a>eprint<\/a>\u00a0testing \u201c24 unopened expired vials\u201d and \u201cthree vials of in-date remnants.”\u00a0The<\/span>\u00a0exported and improperly stored vaccines are a problem. Since mRNA breaks down or\u00a0degrades<\/a>\u00a0much faster than DNA,\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0small amounts of DNA used in making\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0vaccine could become larger in proportion compared to\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0mRNA remaining.\u00a0The<\/span>\u00a0DNA would be more noticeable, especially in expired vials or vials that weren’t stored correctly.<\/p>\n

More importantly,\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0mRNA and\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0promoters cannot get into\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0nucleus of cells and cannot change DNA. mRNA vaccines are not gene therapy.<\/p>\n

There is also\u00a0no evidence<\/a>\u00a0that COVID vaccines cause cancer. Some of\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0most powerful carcinogens can take years to\u00a0manifest<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0form of\u00a0cancer. And while there has been an increase in early-onset\u00a0cancers, this increase started in\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0early\u00a01990s<\/a>, well before\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0introduction of COVID vaccines.<\/p>\n
