And that top CDC officials were involved and later took high-paying jobs at vaccine companies.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_custom_heading text=”The Facts:” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text css=””]This video is part of\u00a0Andrew Wakefield\u2019s movie based on\u00a0Brian Hooker\u2019s reanalysis of the work described in the video.<\/p>\n

The reanalysis<\/a>\u00a0was published in the Journal of Translational Neurodegeneration, and then\u2013notably\u2013retracted. The new publishing journal is an arm of the\u00a0American Association of Physicians and Surgeons<\/a>\u2013a small group that makes spurious positions.<\/p>\n

The original publication was part of an\u00a0anti-vaccine publicity campaign<\/a>\u00a0by the defrocked doctor Andrew Wakefield, which included his controversial film\u00a0VAXXED<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Experts criticized\u00a0Hooker\u2019s re-analysis, saying it was flawed and didn\u2019t consider other variables that could influence\u00a0the\u00a0results. They questioned how he used\u00a0the\u00a0CDC data set and argued that\u00a0the\u00a0study design was inappropriate for his analysis.<\/p>\n

Brian\u00a0Hooker\u00a0used a\u00a0cohort design<\/a>\u00a0to analyze a dataset originally intended for\u00a0case-control analysis<\/a>. Subsequently, he performed multiple\u00a0subset analyses<\/a>, which can be susceptible to\u00a0false positives<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When evidence is\u00a0excessively segmented\u00a0<\/a>or divided into smaller subsets for analysis, there is a higher likelihood of observing apparent correlations that may not actually be meaningful or valid. This phenomenon is often called\u00a0the\u00a0\u201cmultiple comparisons problem\u201d or \u201cdata dredging.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hooker\u2019s reanalysis concludes that African-American males who receive the MMR between ages 24 months and 36 months were more likely to the diagnosed with autism. These were children who received the vaccine late.
