Doctors aren\u2019t sure exactly what causes it, but it may happen after the body fights an infection. In very rare cases, it has also happened after someone gets a vaccine.<\/p>\n

Scientists have watched and\u00a0studied<\/a>\u00a0cases of Bell\u2019s palsy closely since the COVID vaccines came out.\u00a0Observational studies<\/a>\u00a0show that Bell\u2019s palsy happens about as often in vaccinated people as it does in people who haven\u2019t been vaccinated.<\/p>\n

Some larger\u00a0reviews<\/a>\u00a0of many studies found a small increase in Bell\u2019s palsy among people who got the vaccine, but the difference was very small. What\u2019s more, the risk of getting Bell\u2019s palsy from a COVID infection is\u00a0much higher<\/a>\u00a0than the risk of getting it from the vaccine.
\nSteve Kirsch\u2019s claims come from a system called\u00a0VAERS<\/a>, which stands for Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System. According to the\u00a0VAERS<\/a>\u00a0website, anyone can send in a report if they think they had a bad reaction after a vaccine. But that doesn\u2019t mean the vaccine actually caused the problem.<\/p>\n

VAERS is managed in part by the CDC, but the CDC only keeps the data\u2014it doesn\u2019t check or confirm each report. The VAERS website even warns that reports can be incomplete, incorrect, or unproven. Because of this, scientists must be very careful when looking at VAERS data and not jump to conclusions.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]This interview is based on a\u00a0paper<\/a>\u00a0that claims to have discovered an \u2018off-switch\u2019 for mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. In it, Dr. McCullough\u00a0says that one solution to “detox” against mRNA vaccines is to introduce small interfering RNA (siRNA), similar to mRNA along with\u00a0ribonuclease targeting chimeras (RIBOTACs)<\/p>\n

McCullough has\u00a0made multiple\u00a0claims<\/a>, including in his\u00a0paper<\/a>\u00a0below, that lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) can cause injury and harm. Yet in his new procedure, both siRNA and RIBOTACs use lipid nanoparticles to enter the cells to target mRNA. If using lipids to allow siRNA and RIBOTACs to enter our cells is seen as safe, we can also assume the mRNA from vaccination is safe.<\/p>\n

McCullough thinks this procedure is necessary because of worries about how mRNA vaccines spread throughout the body.<\/p>\n

His idea about “systemic biodistribution” comes from\u00a0misconstrued\u00a0data<\/a>. A study in rats looked at lipid nanoparticles after mRNA vaccine injections and their distribution in organs over time.\u00a0The\u00a0data show that most of\u00a0the\u00a0nanoparticles stayed where they were injected, and some went to\u00a0the\u00a0liver. In\u00a0the\u00a0ovaries<\/a>,\u00a0the\u00a0highest amount of nanoparticles found was very, very small (only about 0.095% after 48 hours). This amount might be even smaller in human\u00a0ovaries\u00a0because\u00a0the\u00a0dose<\/a>\u00a0used in\u00a0the\u00a0COVID vaccine is much less than what they used in\u00a0the\u00a0rat study.<\/p>\n

Would this off-switch work? We doubt Dr. McCullough’s science very much, and it is unnecessary because while tiny amounts of mRNA\u00a0may<\/em>\u00a0persist in the body, the vast majority\u00a0usually degrades\u00a0within days<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
