It can\u2019t show whether the children who got vaccines are the same children who were later diagnosed with autism, so it cannot prove any cause-and-effect. Since countries differ in things like healthcare,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.psychologyinaction.org\/autism-spectrum-disorder-the-role-of-cross-cultural-differences-in-diagnosis-and-intervention\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">how they diagnose<\/a>\u00a0autism, and genetics, this kind of study can only raise questions. It cannot make strong conclusions about autism.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, many peer-reviewed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97&amp;id=2b0711ac4f&amp;e=7362aa7434\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D2b0711ac4f%26e%3D7362aa7434&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1765499145888000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0NOHlMoUADlW7Do18egA_2\">studies<\/a>\u00a0that other scientists have checked show something very different.\u00a0Vaccines do not\u00a0cause autism. Large, trusted health groups like the World Health Organization (WHO) have repeated this many times.<\/p>\n<p>One big\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97&amp;id=5dc58c0fd6&amp;e=7362aa7434\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D5dc58c0fd6%26e%3D7362aa7434&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1765499145888000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0ZG0IfyqOamjMbgRZppklu\">study<\/a>\u00a0in Denmark looked at more than 650,000 children born between 1999 and 2010 to see if the MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine was linked to autism. The children were followed for years, and about 6,500 were found to have autism. Kids who got the MMR vaccine were not more likely\u00a0to have autism than kids who didn\u2019t.\u00a0Another\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97&amp;id=eb0055ad8c&amp;e=7362aa7434\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">meta-analysis,\u00a0<\/a>which\u00a0combined data from more than 1.2 million children, also found no link.<\/p>\n<p>Vaccines contain antigens, which are tiny pieces of germs that train your immune system to recognize real infections. Some people worry that \u201ctoo many\u201d antigens might cause autism, but the science doesn\u2019t support that. Over the last few decades, scientists have made vaccines more focused and efficient, so today\u2019s vaccines actually\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/publications.aap.org\/pediatrics\/article-abstract\/109\/1\/124\/79755\/Addressing-Parents-Concerns-Do-Multiple-Vaccines?redirectedFrom=fulltext?autologincheck=redirected\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">contain far fewer antigens<\/a>\u00a0than they used to. At the same time, autism rates have gone up, mostly because doctors are better at recognizing and diagnosing autism.<\/p>\n<p>If vaccines were causing autism, you would expect autism rates to go down as antigens went down, but the opposite happened. This is strong evidence that vaccines are not the cause of autism.<\/p>\n<p>So why do some people still believe vaccines are to blame? Often it\u2019s because they don\u2019t want to accept the evidence. When one idea is proven wrong, they\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97&amp;id=fc14900faa&amp;e=7362aa7434\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3Dfc14900faa%26e%3D7362aa7434&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1765499145888000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3ZERiSgzv6300ls50XkArC\">move on<\/a>\u00a0to a new one, like saying \u201ctoo many vaccines cause\u00a0autism\u201d or blaming another vaccine. This cycle keeps going, even though the science is clear.
