Wyeth<\/a>. It started when\u00a0the\u00a0parents of a girl who was thought to have serious side effects from a vaccine sued\u00a0the\u00a0company that made\u00a0the\u00a0vaccine. Her parents believed that\u00a0the\u00a0vaccine was poorly designed, which caused her problems.<\/p>\n<p>However,\u00a0the\u00a0Supreme Court agreed with\u00a0the\u00a0vaccine manufacturer. They said that\u00a0the\u00a0National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act protects vaccine makers from being sued if a vaccine causes injuries or death as long as\u00a0the\u00a0side effects are\u00a0unavoidable\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0<wbr \/>vaccine is made and labeled correctly. Not only do\u00a0the\u00a0studies done to date show\u00a0vaccines\u00a0are not in any way linked to\u00a0autism, but\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4499461\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D4db62eef88%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1718991598172000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1Ngm7Br97VglZFWCn67jvU\">studies<\/a>\u00a0indicate disorganization of\u00a0the\u00a0prefrontal cortex in\u00a0the\u00a0brains of\u00a0autistic\u00a0people. This part of the brain develops before birth. Of all\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2014\/03\/30\/opinion\/sunday\/how-to-think-about-the-risk-of-autism.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D27d103cf3d%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1718991598172000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3Lk0L7pVPsJeV6nt8xsr7x\">risk factors<\/a>\u00a0in developing\u00a0autism, we know genetics looks\u00a0the\u00a0most likely, and being\u00a0vaccinated\u00a0is not among them.<\/p>\n<p>As for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voicesforvaccines.org\/just-the-facts\/correcting-this-weeks-misinformation-week-of-may-9-2024\/\">myth<\/a>\u00a0that unvaccinated children are healthier than their vaccinated counterparts, almost all of the studies are similar in nature. One such\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/publication\/317086531_Pilot_comparative_study_on_the_health_of_vaccinated_and_unvaccinated_6-to_12-year-old_US_children\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D94c2c5f2d1%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1718991598172000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3uqWPmpzd-2OyqdRL2Rx6z\">study<\/a>\u00a0was funded by two different anti-vaccine organizations\u00a0(Generation Rescue, Inc., and the Children\u2019s Medical Safety Research Institute). The study,\u00a0which was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/retractionwatch.com\/2017\/05\/08\/retracted-vaccine-autism-study-republished\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D5ff26a5afa%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1718991598172000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1Vvd1vXfulAdX2_JuKLB67\">retracted<\/a>\u00a0a month after it was published, relied on surveys sent out to parents of homeschooled children. They didn\u2019t specify how many people were eligible to take the survey, but they only received 415 responses.<\/p>\n<p>Along with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.statisticshowto.com\/self-selection-bias\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D3d42d8950d%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1718991598172000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0PvVK0dmozaTIrT6UYAHzk\">self-selection bias<\/a>, a study design like this introduces other biases, such as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/catalogofbias.org\/biases\/recall-bias\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D8d1d71417b%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1718991598172000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0wtuZVFPZ7NLz2_1uNwjkb\">recall bias<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/catalogofbias.org\/biases\/reporting-biases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D57271fb016%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1718991598172000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3lj41Qx44BNl_GTmt2zobF\">reporting bias<\/a>. The study itself shows that the unvaccinated group was less likely to seek medical or dental care and less likely to use medications. He continues to\u00a0conclude that every death is a vaccine death without any evidence that\u00a0the\u00a0vaccine was given much less caused these deaths.<\/p>\n<p>At the conclusion of the tweet, he mentions 56 deaths (apparently from around the world) of which 5 were cancer. Again, without any evidence that these people were vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>No evidence supports\u00a0the\u00a0claim that COVID-19 vaccines cause so-called\u00a0turbo\u00a0cancer\u00a0or any other form of\u00a0cancer.\u00a0The\u00a0idea that these\u00a0turbo\u00a0cancers are a result of vaccines stems, in part, from claims that doctors are seeing huge spikes in\u00a0cancer\u00a0rates. A paramedic, who is a lifesaving hero, is not in the position to make this kind of call about a patient.<\/p>\n<p>He claims it was the vaccines because the patient at some point \u201creceived three COVID vaccinations.\u201d He also claims that aortic dissections and aneurysms were rare before COVID vaccines.
