Among\u00a0<span class=\"il\">the<\/span>\u00a0findings, 28% of Americans believe that\u00a0<span class=\"il\">the<\/span>\u00a0vaccine has caused thousands of deaths (up from 22%), 22% believe it is safer to get COVID than\u00a0<span class=\"il\">the<\/span>\u00a0vaccine (up from 10%), and 15% believe that\u00a0<span class=\"il\">the<\/span>\u00a0vaccine can change your DNA (up from 8%).<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_inner vc_row-fluid wpex-relative\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h3 style=\"text-align: left\" class=\"vc_custom_heading vc_do_custom_heading\" >The Facts:<\/h3>\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p>These claims are based on laypeople searching\u00a0<span class=\"il\">the<\/span>\u00a0Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, or VAERS. As noted on\u00a0<span class=\"il\">the<\/span>\u00a0VAERS website, anyone can report anything to VAERS, regardless of causation.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"il\">The<\/span>\u00a0most important warning on\u00a0<span class=\"il\">the<\/span>\u00a0website helps put\u00a0<span class=\"il\">the<\/span>\u00a0above claims into context:\u00a0<strong>\u201cVAERS reports may contain information that is incomplete, inaccurate, coincidental, or unverifiable.\u00a0<\/strong>Reports to VAERS can also be biased. As a result, there are limitations on how\u00a0<span class=\"il\">the<\/span>\u00a0data can be used scientifically. Data from VAERS reports should always be interpreted with these limitations in mind.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>These death\u00a0claims usually don\u2019t have any proof to back them up. In fact,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/covid\/vaccines\/benefits.html?CDC_AAref_Val=https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/vaccine-benefits.html\" target=\"_blank\"
