The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/34906770\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/33505220\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">two<\/a>\u00a0studies listed specifically discuss the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and barely touch on the mRNA vaccines. And in the first 10 studies, only 2 are specifically about vaccines, with one of them\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/34339040\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">concluding<\/a>\u00a0that vaccines &#8220;may potentially reduce or prevent SARS-CoV-2 infection, leading to a significant reduction of the global health burden of this pandemic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hearing Dr. Hatfill&#8217;s comments, you could be convinced that mRNA vaccines cause cancer, but they do not.\u00a0Most of the mRNA from the vaccine stays at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/healthfeedback.org\/claimreview\/unsubstantiated-claims-by-michael-palmer-sucharit-bhakdi-dont-demonstrate-covid-19-vaccines-harm-organs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">injection site<\/a>, but some\u00a0travels and is taken up by other organs.<\/p>\n<p>Like in every other situation, the mRNA will then direct those cells to produce spike proteins, which will be anchored to those cells. The mRNA will then degrade within a day or so. Because the mRNA cannot access the nucleus of the cell where DNA resides, it does not change your DNA, and it cannot, therefore, give you turbo cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Rather, the spike proteins trigger an immune response and nothing else. They are not capable of entering another cell or replicating and causing cancer. Studies have shown that the vaccine is very safe and works well to prevent cancers caused by HPV. Before it was approved, the vaccine went through careful testing, and large studies continue to prove its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/vaccine-safety\/vaccines\/hpv.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D6bc0e2285e%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1740540030731000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3JOJhkLF0xdCOlae0kSi0s\">safety<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The assertion that cervical cancer poses no risk to preteens and teens is misleading. HPV, the virus that causes cervical cancer, is commonly spread during adolescence and young adulthood, and getting the vaccine before being exposed to HPV gives the best protection. According to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/hpv\/vaccination-impact\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D93dda2e16a%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1740540030731000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1-wFTmNE8d-Wzu8q5sff4K\">CDC<\/a>, widespread HPV vaccination programs have already led to big drops in HPV infections and pre-cancerous conditions, lowering the risk of cancer later in life.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s\u00a0no evidence for the claim that\u00a0HPV vaccine trials had a death rate \u201c37 times higher\u201d than cervical cancer death. It is acceptable when no effective vaccine is available, and\u00a0the\u00a0new vaccine is intended to benefit\u00a0the\u00a0population being studied. However, using placebos is considered unacceptable when there is already an effective and safe vaccine accessible in\u00a0the\u00a0public health system of\u00a0the\u00a0country where\u00a0the\u00a0trial is planned. In such cases, it would be unethical to withhold\u00a0the\u00a0existing vaccine from participants if not receiving it would pose a significant risk to their health.<\/p>\n<p>In some trials, researchers give a control an aluminum-adjuvant containing placebo instead of a saline placebo. Receiving a placebo with an aluminum adjuvant would feel different than receiving a pure saline placebo. Researchers choose these placebos to keep the trial randomized and blinded.<\/p>\n<p>Many vaccines use aluminum-based adjuvants to help boost the immune response. These adjuvants have been well-studied for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chop.edu\/vaccine-education-center\/vaccine-safety\/vaccine-ingredients\/aluminum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3Df161fc14b1%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1740540030731000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2L4xQXyA7gBzfg7wODeZU8\">safety<\/a>\u00a0and are safe in small amounts.
