Such is the case with Simpsonwood.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97&amp;id=a2e8ac4eab&amp;e=1c0c4183cb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3Da2e8ac4eab%26e%3D1c0c4183cb&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1755823959694000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0wfzFvV-irDazY8IjyBwPs\">2000 Simpsonwood CDC conference<\/a>\u00a0was a two-day meeting organized by the CDC to discuss data from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97&amp;id=c50a4fc0cd&amp;e=1c0c4183cb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3Dc50a4fc0cd%26e%3D1c0c4183cb&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1755823959694000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0kpSxR5exqd_tFsXnH4Dp1\">Vaccine Safety Datalink<\/a>\u00a0regarding the possible link between the mercury compound thimerosal in vaccines and neurological issues in vaccinated children. Attendees included experts in various fields, public health organizations, and pharmaceutical companies.<\/p>\n<p>The conference gained notoriety in the anti-vaccination movement when RFK Jr. wrote an article in 2005 alleging a conspiracy to withhold vaccine safety information. However, the article contained numerous factual errors, leading to its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97&amp;id=6857a25c13&amp;e=1c0c4183cb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D6857a25c13%26e%3D1c0c4183cb&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1755823959694000&amp;usg=AOvVaw06BTyUqVgbj-OSC3uffngI\">retraction<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2007, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97&amp;id=2684515a16&amp;e=1c0c4183cb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D2684515a16%26e%3D1c0c4183cb&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1755823959694000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3SLAUZ7fCEXn9x3BkvL-qB\">Senate HELP Committee<\/a>\u00a0reviewed the allegations against the CDC and found they had mostly no merit.\u00a0It was found that the CDC did not interfere with vaccine safety studies, and the review groups did not rely on manipulated studies.<\/p>\n<p>Four other allegations were also not substantiated, including claims that the CDC convened the Simpsonwood Conference to cover up findings, pressured Dr.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97&amp;id=a2718d9ac5&amp;e=1c0c4183cb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3Da2718d9ac5%26e%3D1c0c4183cb&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1755823959694000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3s5o9Tg3k00cKIxZ_JhjwD\">Thomas Verstraeten<\/a>\u00a0to change his findings, hid the Vaccine Safety Datalink, or organized public health organizations to hide a link between vaccines and\u00a0autism. And we know that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97&amp;id=329d01114e&amp;e=1c0c4183cb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D329d01114e%26e%3D1c0c4183cb&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1755823959694000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3PKvoNlW4NPNF6bSDIkZ76\">vaccines do not cause\u00a0autism<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And for what it&#8217;s worth, the\u00a0Hepatitis\u00a0B\u00a0vaccine is one of\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97&amp;id=015cfec71e&amp;e=1c0c4183cb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D015cfec71e%26e%3D1c0c4183cb&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1755823959695000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2n-zMsfDVlD84GlgS7jgf9\">safest<\/a>, with\u00a0the\u00a0fewest\u00a0possible side effects.\u00a0The\u00a0most likely side effects are\u00a0just\u00a0pain and soreness at\u00a0the\u00a0injection site,\u00a0without any documented serious side effects.<\/p>\n<p>If\u00a0the\u00a0hep\u00a0B\u00a0vaccine causes any serious side effects, they are extremely rare\u2014so rare that we haven\u2019t found any in several millions of doses. COVID vaccines actually protect against serious cardiac events and stroke in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jacc.org\/doi\/10.1016\/j.jacc.2022.12.006\">people who have had previous COVID infections<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time someone claimed that mRNA vaccines can cause autoimmune damage.\u00a0Ryan Cole\u00a0has previously claimed\u00a0that a journal-published\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/nrd.2017.243\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paper<\/a>\u00a0showed that mRNA vaccines caused cancer and\u00a0autoimmune\u00a0issues.<\/p>\n<p>But the lead author of that paper emphasizes that there is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97&amp;id=7c75efc9fb&amp;e=7362aa7434\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D7c75efc9fb%26e%3D7362aa7434&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1755824383820000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3bJdCmIrF86hMmyVVOZWCh\">no evidence<\/a>\u00a0for these claims. The author notes that over\u00a0the last 10 years, many clinical trials have tested mRNA vaccines. None of these studies found that the vaccines caused autoimmune diseases.
