For example, by age 2, a child would typically receive approximately 27 injections, with many vaccines combining protection against multiple diseases.<\/p>\n<p>Booster shots don\u2019t add new antigens\u00a0to your body; they just remind your immune system how to fight the ones you\u2019ve already been exposed to. Counting boosters as new vaccines can give a false idea of how many different antigens you\u2019re actually being exposed to. The increase in recommended vaccines is about using science to protect public health, not about making money or avoiding liability.<\/p>\n<p>There have been many\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voicesforvaccines.org\/jtf_topic_subjects\/childhood-vaccines\/\">fantastic rebuttals<\/a>\u00a0to the \u201cexploding\u00a0vaccine\u00a0schedule\u201d claims over the years. Mainly, we are grateful that we can\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthychildren.org\/English\/safety-prevention\/immunizations\/Pages\/Vaccination-Protects-Against-These-Diseases.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3Dfd577296f9%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1728326203621000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3oSaLP0MgeaSgN_dJNXvBt\">prevent more diseases<\/a>\u00a0now than before.<\/p>\n<p>But even these rebuttals gloss over the fact that the\u00a0vaccination\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chop.edu\/vaccine-education-center\/science-history\/vaccine-history\/developments-by-year\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D3c3808cc79%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1728326203621000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2or1_af5-z3CfmR7otOFgp\">schedule<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97&amp;id=b3c14d34a4&amp;e=fc0735be13\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3Db3c14d34a4%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1728326203621000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1nYo_TIKD8X7Y1PXAUqvJ_\">\u00a0has grown very, very slowly<\/a>. One vaccine was dropped from the schedule in the 1970s, two were added in the 1980s, two were added in the 1990s, one was added in the 2000s, and two were added in the 2010s. And, of course, the 2020s brought us COVID and RSV vaccines. But scientists have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/virology.ws\/2008\/12\/19\/100th-anniversary-of-the-isolation-of-poliovirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D0e720f2fec%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1746052417839000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3Dm4mls2yUfk_l1s4xU8yR\">isolated<\/a>\u00a0the poliovirus from the bodies of sick people many times. They also did experiments where they\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/uen.pressbooks.pub\/ehsl\/chapter\/identifying-polio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D3c7358348b%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1746052417839000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0hxgZxOd_7b52PzLIUU_8G\">gave the virus to monkeys<\/a>, which then got the same kind of paralysis as people. So we know that poliovirus has caused polio in the past and the present.<\/p>\n<p>She says that smallpox was eradicated because of better sanitation. But for that to be true, you would have to believe two things:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Better sanitation can stop a virus that spreads through the air<\/li>\n<li>Every country in the world has good enough sanitation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Since the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfid.org\/the-triumph-of-science-the-incredible-story-of-smallpox-eradication\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D637e78b6f5%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1746052417839000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1Y2FVV16yesdImuXuz4-Nf\">worldwide effort<\/a>\u00a0to get rid of smallpox, there hasn\u2019t been a single case anywhere, which shows that vaccines and not just sanitation stopped it.<\/p>\n<p>Rogan discusses some graphs showing polio rates going down before the vaccine was introduced, but he completely misunderstands\u00a0the\u00a0graphs. The\u00a0graphs, found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/vaclib.org\/sites\/debate\/web1.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D88b039a8f8%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1729878265970000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2g7PnBy7ly9IZ_b2_HO6cF\">here<\/a>,\u00a0show that\u00a0<em>deaths<\/em>\u00a0had already drastically fallen before vaccines.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.britannica.com\/04\/20904-050-AEC7F1A6\/mass-vaccination-programs-diphtheria-polio-population-diseases-1970.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3Ddde296f492%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1729878265970000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2OwlGNe8RIwELX_zkgxFab\">Cases<\/a>, on\u00a0the\u00a0other hand, didn\u2019t fall until vaccines were introduced.<\/p>\n<p>And sanitation made polio worse.\u00a0Before\u00a0the\u00a01900s, most kids were exposed to polio as babies, which helped them build natural immunity.
