The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iris.who.int\/server\/api\/core\/bitstreams\/4e780c85-62ad-499b-af13-2ed24369fb23\/content\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3Ddef56d3601%26e%3D7362aa7434&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1772148814146000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1INtxfiulJSbARK45Ez7FS\">World Health Organization<\/a>\u00a0has rules about when it is fair and safe to use a placebo. It is okay if there is no good vaccine yet, and the study could help protect people. But if a country already has a safe and effective vaccine, it is not right to give people a placebo instead, because that would leave them unprotected and at risk.<\/p>\n<p>He also claims vaccines cause autism; however, many peer-reviewed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/autismsciencefoundation.org\/autism-and-vaccines-read-the-science\/\" rel=\"noopener\">studies<\/a>\u00a0show no association between vaccines and autism.\u00a0Autism diagnoses\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aafp.org\/pubs\/afp\/issues\/2011\/0301\/p515.html\" rel=\"noopener\">went up from 2000 to 2020<\/a>, even though most childhood vaccines were first given in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chop.edu\/vaccine-education-center\/science-history\/vaccine-history\/developments-by-year\" rel=\"noopener\">1980s and 1990s<\/a>. Since the 1980s, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthychildren.org\/English\/safety-prevention\/immunizations\/Pages\/History-of-Immunizations.aspx\" rel=\"noopener\">vaccine schedule\u00a0<\/a>has grown by only 1 or 2 new vaccines each decade. This slow and careful process is based on science. It is very different from the idea that vaccines are quickly and randomly added to the schedule.<\/p>\n<p>Today, about 1 out of every 36 children in the United States has autism. In\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldpopulationreview.com\/country-rankings\/autism-rates-by-country\" rel=\"noopener\">other countries<\/a>, autism rates are about the same or even higher, even though their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.folkhalsomyndigheten.se\/the-public-health-agency-of-sweden\/communicable-disease-control\/vaccinations\/vaccination-programmes\/\" rel=\"noopener\">vaccine schedules<\/a>\u00a0are different and often include fewer shots for young children.<\/p>\n<p>Large studies have compared vaccinated and unvaccinated children, and they keep finding the same result: vaccines do not cause autism or other long-term health problems. The video from this hearing is making the rounds again.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_inner vc_row-fluid wpex-relative\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h3 style=\"text-align: left\" class=\"vc_custom_heading vc_do_custom_heading\" >The Facts:<\/h3>\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p>We don\u2019t know where this claim started, but it does not make sense. If someone says animal tests were skipped, how can they also say all the animals died in a test? That is not true.<\/p>\n<p>In fact,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wanbrc.uw.edu\/important-role-of-animal-research-in-mrna-covid-19-vaccine-development\/\" rel=\"noopener\">animal studies<\/a>\u00a0were done\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.efpia.eu\/news-events\/the-efpia-view\/blog-articles\/fitting-vaccine-research-into-one-year-were-animals-used\/\" rel=\"noopener\">at the same time<\/a>\u00a0as human trials to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.understandinganimalresearch.org.uk\/human-diseases\/covid-19-animal-research\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">test<\/a>\u00a0the safety of the COVID vaccines and how well they worked. The vaccines went through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC8052930\/\" rel=\"noopener\">full testing<\/a>\u00a0before the FDA allowed them to be used under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). Since then, billions of people have safely received COVID vaccines. This is called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/topics\/medicine-and-dentistry\/selection-bias\" rel=\"noopener\">selection bias<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Another major problem is that their \u201cunvaccinated\u201d group is not truly unvaccinated: the paper says a child had to have an immunization record match and \u201cminimally have been immunized at least once,\u201d and \u201cunvaccinated\u201d just means \u201cnot vaccinated in days 60\u201390,\u201d so the comparison is not \u201cvaccinated vs. unvaccinated,\u201d but \u201cvaccinated in this window vs. vaccinated at some other time or not recorded in this window.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Timing also matters a lot: babies who are sick, premature, or have health problems may get vaccines later, may miss visits, or may have different care, and those same health problems also change the risk of death, so the groups can be different from the start.
