One\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2008\/01\/09\/17971296\/when-sudden-death-strikes-athletes\">article we found, from 2008<\/a>, discussed the problem of silent, undetected heart disease in young athletes.<\/p>\n<p>The crux of the film is that COVID vaccines are due to undetected blood clots. Make no mistake, images of the blood clots are meant to invoke disgust that short-circuits our rational thoughts. It\u2019s important to know that embalmers are not qualified to conduct autopsies. Furthermore,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.techarp.com\/facts\/embalmers-vaccine-blood-clots\/\">the blood clots showcased in the film<\/a>\u00a0may be due to refrigeration of the bodies or the presence of formaldehyde due to embalming.<\/p>\n<p>But\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thereal_truther\">The Real Truther<\/a>\u00a0has been digging into many of these cases, one by one. They are not standing up to scrutiny:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The wife of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thereal_truther\/status\/1595523832063746049\">one mortician interviewed<\/a>\u00a0in the film states that there is no truth to anything her husband says in the film<\/li>\n<li>Several of the deaths highlighted in the film occurred before people were able to get the vaccines\n<ul>\n<li>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thereal_truther\/status\/1597283685417377792\">teenager<\/a>\u00a0who died in April 2021, before the vaccine had been approved for teens<\/li>\n<li>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thereal_truther\/status\/1597634793105395712\">UK teenager<\/a>\u00a0died from myocarditis caused by COVID infection and had been scheduled to receive a vaccine she never had<\/li>\n<li>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thereal_truther\/status\/1586431003312107522\">college basketball player<\/a>\u00a0who didn\u2019t die after collapsing in a game in 2020, before any vaccine existed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This film relies on multiple layers of misinformation: the scary story, the false expert, and the appeal to disgust. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/covid19.nih.gov\/news-and-stories\/covid-19-vaccines-and-menstrual-cycle\">facts<\/a>\u00a0paint a different portrait.<\/p>\n<p>Variations in menstrual cycles aren\u2019t often studied in vaccine clinical trials and follow-up studies. In this case, some people suggested a connection. The first\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.ohsu.edu\/2022\/09\/27\/global-study-finds-covid-19-vaccination-can-affect-menstrual-cycle\">studies<\/a>\u00a0showed that any changes in menstrual cycles were temporary.<\/p>\n<p>What scientists usually do and also did in this case, however, is study the effect of vaccines on fertility.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0264410X22011185\">Studies<\/a>\u00a0do not show any correlation between the COVID vaccine and reduced fertility. So let\u2019s talk about vaccines and autism.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_inner vc_row-fluid wpex-relative\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h3 style=\"text-align: left\" class=\"vc_custom_heading vc_do_custom_heading\" >The Facts:<\/h3>\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p>Excessive alarm about the rate of autism diagnosis is one of the factors spurring this myth. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scientificamerican.com\/article\/the-real-reasons-autism-rates-are-up-in-the-u-s\/\">reasons<\/a>\u00a0for the rise in these rates are multi-faceted: changes in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/tarahaelle\/2015\/01\/05\/majority-of-autism-increase-due-to-diagnostic-changes-finds-new-study\/\">diagnostic criteria<\/a>, increased\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spectrumnews.org\/news\/new-spike-in-autism-numbers-may-reflect-rise-in-awareness\/\">awareness<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/educationonline.ku.edu\/community\/idea-timeline\">educational<\/a>\u00a0changes, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/profile\/M-E-Suzanne-Lewis\/publication\/5870268_Trends_in_Autism_Prevalence_Diagnostic_Substitution_Revisited\/links\/00b4951c7d6616ffd0000000\/Trends-in-Autism-Prevalence-Diagnostic-Substitution-Revisited.pdf\">lowered rates of intellectual disability (PDF)<\/a>\u00a0account for most of the rising rates.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2014\/03\/30\/opinion\/sunday\/how-to-think-about-the-risk-of-autism.html\">Biological risk factors<\/a>\u00a0such as a father\u2019s age and premature birth could account for some of the rise in the incidence of autism.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/healthfeedback.org\/claimreview\/contrary-to-viral-facebook-claim-numerous-studies-show-vaccines-dont-cause-autism\/?fbclid=IwAR2hOUTbPgWnOMVE_k5mK7V8sv0Ue6egZkD4185rZtpKaKSEyirUavEde5g\">Plenty of evidence<\/a>\u00a0tells us that vaccines do not cause autism. Not only do the studies done to date show vaccines are not in any way linked to autism, but\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4499461\/\">studies<\/a>\u00a0indicate disorganization of the prefrontal cortex in the brains of autistic people. This finding links autism to development that takes place before birth.
