One part of a statement is taken as proof\u00a0of fertility side effects\u00a0while conveniently ignoring the rest of the statement that specifically states that heavy menstrual bleeding is not a sign of any effect on fertility.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0European Medicines Agency (EMA) has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ema.europa.eu\/en\/news\/meeting-highlights-pharmacovigilance-risk-assessment-committee-prac-24-27-october-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D160eea8025%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1686437435178000&amp;usg=AOvVaw25M8cXJH3p3tyDrh0XA7rb\">recommended<\/a>\u00a0that product information\u00a0about the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines should state that some people might experience heavy periods, but it\u2019s unknown\u00a0how often it happens. There is some suggestion that the journal that published it is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/predatoryreports.org\/news\/f\/list-of-all-mdpi-predatory-publications\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3Df7a2b8fcbc%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1686437435178000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0kv5ETD4ElBvLnfwzdEE7Y\">predatory<\/a>.\u00a0The paper also cites another\u00a0that claims countries with higher vaccine uptake had higher all-cause mortality, but\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/healthfeedback.org\/claimreview\/data-doesnt-show-that-vaccines-are-responsible-for-2022-excess-mortality-contrary-to-alex-berensons-claim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D249217de32%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1686437435178000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1ghzmj4ttq4T6dq_kGV1i3\">fact-checking<\/a>\u00a0and more thorough analysis has shown those claims to be unsupported.<\/p>\n<p>The main assertion in the paper concerns\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41577-023-00871-z\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D208c025c28%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1686437435178000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1hU1mnUZjNfSAldYr-gyhF\">IgG4 antibodies<\/a>. Scientific understanding of\u00a0these immune cells is still evolving. Another\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.science.org\/doi\/10.1126\/sciimmunol.adg7327\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D9a59032960%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1686437435178000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1Fr2PjxYSADTRtCiEluBh2\">paper<\/a>\u00a0looked at the issue of IgG4 and offered that\u00a0they make up only a small part of the total antibodies that target the COVID spike protein after vaccination. The paper concluded that overall, they are unlikely to weaken the immunity of vaccinated people.<\/p>\n<p>Since the main paper in question makes extraordinary claims about the role of vaccination in causing immune system problems, it should bring extraordinary evidence to back it up. Alas, it does not.<\/p>\n<p>For example, the paper makes\u00a0a claim about the UK Office of National Statistics.\u00a0The claim is that between April and mid-November 2021, more people who hadn\u2019t gotten the COVID-19 vaccine died compared to those who had received two doses. But later, from the end of November 2021 to December 2022, things changed: more people who had received a third vaccine dose died compared to those who hadn\u2019t gotten vaccinated at all.<\/p>\n<p>The error here is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/catalogofbias.org\/biases\/confounding-by-indication\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D41fa52ae3e%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1686437435179000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0raRwt-st5iXTS3EfvHWbk\">confounding by indication<\/a>,\u00a0neglecting to take into\u00a0account that, at that time, the third\u00a0dose was reserved only for the sickest and most vulnerable people. As it turns out, those people are also the most likely to die. The vaccine was given to girls aged 12-13 years, starting in September 2008. They also had a catch-up program for girls aged 14-18 years from 2008 to 2010.<\/p>\n<p>The study found that girls who received the vaccine at different ages had a reduced risk of cervical cancer and one\u00a0pre-cancerous condition. The reduction in cervical cancer rates ranged from 34% to 87%, depending on the age at which the vaccine was given.
