These were neither clinical nor safety trials, as the video suggests, since the HPV vaccine had been\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/17010274\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D41e3b6117b%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1695488173819000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0XBXdZ48MFw-MuuZr2h-ez\">approved<\/a>\u00a0in India in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>This video also makes an unsubstantiated claim that many of the 24,000 girls vaccinated in India were seriously injured, from seizures to cancer itself.\u00a0It does not cite any credible sources or detail documented instances.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in New Delhi\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/nindia.2013.122\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3Dbe2289f564%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1695488173819000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1csZI6tKOpLo8t0V7P5OmB\">suspended the project<\/a>\u00a0in 2010 after the deaths of 7 girls following the vaccine. However, 5 of those deaths were\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.science.org\/content\/article\/indian-parliament-comes-down-hard-cervical-cancer-trial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3Db419e8fc41%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1695488173819000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1r7LKTiLyM98LfE1yyDF8W\">completely unrelated<\/a>\u00a0to the vaccine (drowning, snake bite, pesticides, and malaria), and the other two were unlikely related to the vaccine.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmj.com\/content\/347\/bmj.f5492\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D0356caefe9%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1695488173819000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1m5IsMHR8A4VMDUYWMeHks\">Allegations<\/a>\u00a0by a\u00a0parliamentary panel that oversees\u00a0India\u2019s health ministry were that the project had breached medical ethics and violated Indian regulations on clinical trials, as these deaths were not investigated by PATH. Since \u201cclinical trials had already established the safety of HPV vaccines through clinical trials and the vaccine had been approved in India in 2008, they were not collecting safety data at the time. While some of this is accurate, it displays a fundamental misunderstanding of how and why vaccines work.<\/p>\n<p>Vaccines, in general, work by introducing bits of pathogen, called antigens, to your body, so it can learn to fight the real pathogen. With mRNA vaccines, instead of supplying the antigen itself, the vaccine supplies the instructions for your body to build the antigen itself.\u00a0The vaccine does not enter the bloodstream directly. So it\u2019s less likely to interact with components of the blood that can lead to clotting.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0vaccine is administered in the deltoid muscle. The vast majority of the vaccine is taken up by the cells of the muscle and by dendritic cells, immune cells that present foreign antigens to the immune system.\u00a0This immune response is highly specific to the spike protein and does not affect the blood\u2019s coagulation system or clotting factors.<\/p>\n<p>The vaccine contains a finite amount of mRNA, and only a finite number of cells interact with the vaccine.
