And it is important to note that while he is using this list as part of his #DiedSuddenly claims, a number of them are not dead.<\/p>\n<p>Attributing these cases to COVID is incorrect since prior to COVID,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC6815659\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3Db64d329271%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1702662196251000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0V9VRwbQ4ybmJ3N_OILO7V\">half a million deaths annually<\/a>\u00a0occurred due to influenza, and over\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ourworldindata.org\/pneumonia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D58b15e2c87%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1702662196251000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2bFkDN0rpLmRDd0cuBzUtp\">2.5 million deaths<\/a>\u00a0were due to pneumonia around the world. Furthermore, not all of the people on the list have shared whether or not they received a COVID vaccine.<\/p>\n<p>The heart of this claim is based on the idea that the COVID mRNA vaccines severely damage the immune system and leave people vulnerable to infections long term. While there is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicalnewstoday.com\/articles\/is-your-immune-system-weak-after-covid-vaccine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D5340c2e220%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1702662196251000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1PWVfD2NS5-aHsOmPlQ2Sj\">no evidence<\/a>\u00a0that this is true, there is plenty of evidence that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.infectioncontroltoday.com\/view\/covid-19-study-suggests-long-term-damage-immune-system\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" study shows that the mRNA COVID vaccines are safe and effective, and just because tiny amounts of mRNA\u00a0<em>may<\/em>\u00a0persist in the body (the vast majority\u00a0usually degrades\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nebraskamed.com\/COVID\/where-mrna-vaccines-and-spike-proteins-go\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3Df906a06f08%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1702693480229000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0woYjUAHab9dcmJLddTmrl\">within days<\/a>), doesn\u2019t mean the vaccines are not safe nor effective.\u00a0We have give billions of doses to humans, and we know they are safe and effective.<\/p>\n<p>As for testing for transmission, there was no lie. No vaccine manufacturer or study ever claimed they studied rates of transmission because that is not something they tested for.\u00a0Vaccines were tested and approved based on data for safety and efficacy: did they prevent disease, and are they safe? Preventing\u00a0transmission is a happy unintended\u00a0benefit and is often estimated after the vaccine is licensed and is not something that approvals depend on.<\/p>\n<p>This\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jamanetworkopen\/fullarticle\/2792598\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D50cf4f87c8%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1702693480229000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2VulBlU6VQ1vViNjtmSzM_\">study<\/a>\u00a0shows that even when infected with\u00a0COVID, those who are fully vaccinated were contagious for about half as long and infected far fewer people (almost a quarter fewer) than those who were partially vaccinated or unvaccinated.
