In a 2011\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/21708796\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3Df0e9060574%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1711119975181000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0U-tHxk-wv5try74XmAbpK\">study<\/a>, of those who responded, only 14% said their children received no vaccines. This 2021\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/33478791\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3De9783b9ec1%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1711119975181000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0XcNelbtWv3VNFuaHVqBEl\">study<\/a>\u00a0indicates that about 25% of the Amish respondents would get vaccinated against COIVD.<\/p>\n<p>But were the Amish protected from COVID? The \u201cstudy\u201d that claims that\u00a0COVID death rates among Amish communities are an \u201cincredible 90 times lower than the rest of fully-vaxxed and boostered, mask-wearing and locked-down America\u201d was simply tech millionaire Steve Kirsch inserting himself into an Amish community and asking them to name people who died. He\u00a0\u201cdid some calculations and thought there might have been a few, maybe five, Amish individuals who had died. . .\u00a0 this implies that the Amish died at a rate 90 times lower than the infection fatality rate of the rest of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Of course, having a discussion with one community and doing some back-of-napkin calculations isn\u2019t a study. Both the information gathering and the math are inadequate to draw any conclusions. And we are left with nothing supporting Amish children being the world\u2019s healthiest people. (Just as we previously found that the myth of there being &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voicesforvaccines.org\/jtf_topics\/are-there-any-autistic-amish-people\/\">no Autistic Amish people<\/a>&#8221; The most commonly expressed concern about multiple boosters over a person\u2019s lifetime is the risk of myocarditis and pericarditis.<\/span><\/h3>\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<p>However, we do not make decisions about vaccines based solely on a possible rare adverse event. We ask ourselves whether or not the benefits of vaccinating (avoiding the risks of disease) outweigh the risks of vaccinating.<\/p>\n<p>The above study looked at 99 million people with a combined total of over 184 vaccine doses.\u00a0They looked at how many adverse events happened and compared that to the usual number of such events in the general population. This usual number, or what they expected without vaccination, was figured out using information from before the COVID-19 vaccine came out, mostly from 2015 to 2019.
