The data did not show a link between vaccination and previously healthy young persons.<\/p>\n<p>The tweet cites an article from the Epoch Times, a far-right media company rated \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/adfontesmedia.com\/epoch-times-bias-and-reliability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D2e19510847%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1713853183210000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1KL-j0SFBXA8GKLOOQbNoG\">Unreliable, Problematic<\/a>\u201d and affiliated with\u00a0the\u00a0Falun Gong religious movement. The primary claim that this CDC study doesn\u2019t \u201cdisprove a link between COVID-19 vaccines and sudden deaths among young people\u201d is accurate since proving a negative is tricky.<\/p>\n<p>In general, proving a negative (proving that the vaccine doesn\u2019t cause cardiac deaths) is much more difficult and often impossible compared to proving a positive. Science usually tries to find out and show what exists or what effects happen instead of trying to prove that something doesn\u2019t exist or happen. The authors of the study even explained that one of the limitations of their study included a small sample size, and for a very rare event, you\u2019d need a very large sample size to discover it.<\/p>\n<p>One of the things pointed out in the article in the Epoch Times was that a previous Korean\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC10290868\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D2ee4d799ee%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1713853183210000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1G6WgIfbYX6Kauu0cv5kA3\">study<\/a>\u00a0did show a link between vaccination and sudden death. In 2011, the Supreme Court decided a case called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bruesewitz_v._Wyeth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D106a5655ee%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1713853183210000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1wOjVVAJNqJnq3oX6xH1Se\">Bruesewitz v. Wyeth<\/a>. This case started when the parents of a girl who was thought to have serious side effects from a vaccine sued the company that made the vaccine. Her parents believed that the vaccine was poorly designed, and that\u2019s what caused her problems.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Supreme Court agreed with the vaccine manufacturer. They said that the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act protects vaccine makers from being sued if a vaccine causes injuries or death as long as the side effects are unavoidable and the vaccine is made and labeled correctly. They explained\u00a0that the law stops any lawsuits that claim a vaccine\u2019s design is defective.<\/p>\n<p>The court didn\u2019t say that all vaccines are \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/law.stanford.edu\/press\/no-the-supreme-court-didnt-declare-vaccines-unavoidably-unsafe-fact-check\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D8a50c1675c%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1713853183210000&amp;usg=AOvVaw11NG3ht-IlMgA4wMNeyuw5\">unavoidably unsafe<\/a>.\u201d\u00a0The ruling\u00a0was just about whether the parents could sue under this specific law. Thus, some mothers caught\u00a0hep\u00a0B\u00a0after they got tested during prenatal care and before they gave birth. Tests can sometimes give false negatives. It\u2019s not a common method of transmission, but\u00a0the\u00a0risk is not zero either.<\/p>\n<p>By contrast,\u00a0the\u00a0Hepatitis\u00a0B\u00a0<wbr \/>vaccine is one of\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chop.edu\/centers-programs\/vaccine-education-center\/vaccine-details\/vaccine-hepatitis-b-vaccine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voicesforvaccines.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3De17a65409cd8f13ba7e58cc97%26id%3D21ba660a37%26e%3Dfc0735be13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1713853183210000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2lsKgGI1LxDPRJcK_7phz-\">safest<\/a>, with\u00a0the\u00a0fewest\u00a0possible side effects.\u00a0The\u00a0most likely side effects are\u00a0just\u00a0pain and soreness at\u00a0the\u00a0injection site,\u00a0without any documented serious side effects.<\/p>\n<p>If\u00a0the\u00a0hep\u00a0B\u00a0vaccine causes any serious side effects, they are extremely rare\u2014so rare that we haven\u2019t found any in several millions of doses.
