I choose to immunize myself and my family because of my children, my education, and my empathy for my fellow humans. A few short generations ago in the US it was the norm for children to die before reaching adulthood; It is still the norm in many other parts of the world, and I do not want it to become the norm again here. Immunizations save lives every day all around the world, and I'm thankful my children are protected. Do I want to advocate for safe ingredients, better environmental practices, and reducing the load of toxin substances that human bodies come into contact with? Absolutely! But using those reasons to opt out of vaccines is prioritizing the 'potential for danger', over the known danger, and at the expense of public health. Only by supporting, and funding environmental/vaccine research will technology continue to advance! I feel it is my duty to public health to choose immunizations!
