Handling Difficult Conversations
WE KNOW that vaccine conversations can sometimes be tricky. Here are some tips to keep things respectful and productive.
Stay calm and kind – Even if the other person is emotional, keep your tone polite and understanding.
Correct misinformation with simple, clear facts – Avoid saying “let’s agree to disagree.” Instead, gently share accurate information.
Know when to step away – If a discussion isn’t going anywhere, it’s okay to disengage.
Prioritize relationships – If a loved one disagrees, keep the relationship your focus. Try saying “I see we don’t agree, but I care about you, so let’s talk about something else. Just know that if you ever want to learn more, I’m happy to chat.”
We have resources for handling vaccine advocacy on social media here. Every conversation that spreads awareness and encourages vaccination helps build a healthier community.
Let's Work Together for a Healthier Future
BY TAKING even small steps—having a conversation, supporting local businesses, or sharing information—you’re making a real impact.
Let’s work together to keep our communities safe, healthy, and protected! Community immunity is one of the simplest ways to do good—not just for ourselves, but for those around us. By protecting ourselves, we protect others. And they, in turn, protect us.
It’s a small act with a big impact. And it’s something we can all be part of.
