I vaccinate to protect: myself (who wants to be sick for 2 weeks? who's going to take care of my patients when I'm sick?) my family (who wants to miss college for 2 weeks? who wants to be hospitalized with flu complications?) and my patients (who can't be vaccinated until 6 months of age? who can't be vaccinated at all for medical reasons?). I've never contracted the flu despite being directly exposed to the flu every season. #thanksvaccines But I do care for kids who suffer from flu complications and would always rather vaccinate them than take care of the aftermath of disease.
