We immunize for our youngest son, Oliver, who is unable to receive many immunizations. At a few days shy of 6 months old Oliver received his life saving liver transplant after fighting Biliary Atresia for his entire short life. He had to have multiple surgeries prior to transplant and we accepted a mismatch blood type liver after waiting at the top of the national list for 11 days. Oliver will be on two immune suppressants for the rest of his life and relies on his family and the general population for protection against illness. Cold and flu could mean liver rejection or even death for Ollie so we do everything in our power to fight against preventable diseases.
