As an emergency department physician who is also 33 weeks and 1 day pregnant, I am at high risk for complications should I contract covid. I talked it over with my OB/GYN and she and I both feel the benefits outweigh the risks of getting vaccinated for me. I am so glad today I was able to take the first step toward being a little more protected. I feel the light at the end of the tunnel coming. If we all do our part we can #CrushCovid and move on to a better brighter future. ———- Here are some medical society statements: ACOG statement: https://www.acog.org/en/Clinical/Clinical%20Guidance/Practice%20Advisory/Articles/2020/12/Vaccinating%20Pregnant%20and%20Lactating%20Patients%20Against%20COVID%2019 MFM statement: https://www.smfm.org/covidclinical ASRM statement: https://www.asrm.org/globalassets/asrm/asrm-content/news-and-publications/covid-19/covidtaskforceupdate11.pdf?utm_source=Informz&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=EmailBlast&_zs=xVBWi1&_zl=ma5J7&fbclid=IwAR1GODN8iYDwljaqNg0hl8ExPTzDu2Ns7VU5sGBhcZQGlm-V_E1W_uDnB4g ABM statement: https://abm.memberclicks.net/abm-statement-considerations-for-covid-19-vaccination-in-lactation?fbclid=IwAR0HxcE6e3DnCo8coWWWfobLQwUOs-RAQYSFZSGtlyW-dt70bxni6eHkHQA ———- Jama article: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2770485
