My name is Cyndi Dexter and I chose to immunize for many reasons. I am a nurse, thus I believe in the scientific evidence that vaccines prevent many illnesses. I am also immuno-compromised and have had illnesses such as meningitis, pneumonia, and influenza, but in the 25 years since I began taking the flu vaccine I've not had a repeat episode of the flu. And last, I immunize for this little girl, my first grandchild, Lucy. Lucy was born early and was quite small. Everyone in the family is up to date on their shots to protect her. Her mom is also very good at making sure Lucy is up to date with her shots, and she is now a happy and healthy 2 year old.
