By getting a vaccine I protect myself, my family and my wider community. By being involved in vaccine research as a volunteer I may help protect people who I will never meet, and who I'll never know about. I just got the flu vaccine; I don't want to get flu as it's miserable. I have friends (and friends with family) who are more vulnerable; for them flu could be a killer.
