The lady in this photo was my great-grandmother. She died in the great flu pandemic of 1918 at the age of 46. Of the 15 children she bore, 7 of them remained at home. 5 of them were under the age of 10. I work in public health and firmly believe vaccines protect the health of our communities. Immunizations are proven to save lives.
