Well, maybe not everything. But a lot!

If the Voices for Vaccines Facebook page is a gauge, this flu season is seeing the circulation of more flu myths than usual. Is this flu strain particularly bad? Is this year’s flu vaccine a bad match? Is the flu worth preventing? Does the flu vaccine make you sick? Do people promote the flu vaccine for monetary gain? Our guests, Dr. William Schaffner and Serese Marotta help us answer these questions.

Dr. William Schaffner is a professor of infectious diseases at Vanderbilt University and medical director at the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases. He is also a beloved member of the Voices for Vaccines Scientific Advisory Board.

Serese Marotta is the Chief Operating Officer of Families Fighting Flu. She lost her five-year-old son, Joseph, to H1N1 influenza in 2009.
